Be the tree

Be the tree

I spent last week in California with my family. After a busy winter, spring break in Joshua Tree sounded refreshing and exciting, and it certainly did not disappoint.

Something about Joshua Tree inspires and calms me. It might be the slower pace and simple ruggedness of desert life. That, combined with the vast desert and open sky for miles? Incredible. Just writing this, I’m feeling called back.

Side note: If you have never had the opportunity to look up at the sky in the middle of the desert, add it to your bucket list.

But there’s something else really amazing about driving through miles and miles of Joshua trees. It’s knowing that every one of those trees grew big and strong in fiercely adverse conditions.

This is a reminder as I dive back into work and a good lesson from Spring Break.
